Motto & Emblem
The motto of the Boys Brigade is 'Sure and Steadfast'.  It is taken from the bible, the book of Hebrews, Chapter 6, Verse 19:

"We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, sure and strong. It enters behind the curtain in the Most Holy Place in heaven..."

The emblem of the Boys Brigade is an Anchor with a cross, as shown in the banner above.  The original emblem was just the anchor.  In the 1920s, the Boys Brigade joined with the Boys Life Brigade (who had the emblem of a red cross) and the two emblems were amalgamated.

Object
The object of the Boys Brigade is "The advancement of Christ's kingdom among Boys and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline, Self-respect and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness."
